Pre-Halloween 2012

Pictured Above: Gold One Piece $30// Disco Short $52// Terry Headband $6// Knee High Sock $10

This year, I am especially excited for Halloween because I have a BANGIN’ costume and several fun events I’ll be sporting it at. This Halloween, American Apparel  has put together an AMAZING campaign of costume ideas which have inspired me to go tight and short this year. Above are some of my pics for the costume I am creating. I’m going to be a GROOVY DISCO DIVA and couldn’t be more excited! Next Saturday, I’ll be wearing the costume to the costume party at my work which should be a TON of fun. Then, on Halloween night, I’ll be attending the fab parade in West Hollywood with the other thousands of Halloween lovers. Expect pictures to come!!!

California Dreamin’

This weekend was a great one! I got to work at the restaurant all day during the Beer Fest (which lead to some very interesting convos), go to a surf contest, see some old friends and of course down a delicious authentic Mexican burrito! I hope y’all enjoyed your weekend as well!

No More Blue Jean Blues

From Left to Right: DKNY Printed Silk Pants $245Lace Overlay Skirt $80Red Pleated Skirt $68/ Leopard Print Shorts $18/ Mod Cloth Green Skirt $43.

Do you have those blue jean blues? Everyone sometimes gets stuck in the daily monotony of bland blue jeans. Above are some alternative options that are bound to make a statement and turn some heads! Which style suites you?

Crazy For Stella & Dot

I recently received my Gigi Studs from Stella & Dot that I won in a giveaway hosted by fellow blogger Arbitrary Ambrosia and I’m in love!  I chose to wear them the other day on a trip to the luxurious Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai, California. While touring the gorgeous Spanish style grounds of the hotel, I wore a simple black cami tucked into printed high-waisted shorts, my favorite (old) Steve Maddens and topped it all off with my new Gigi Studs! Besides the fact that I won these vintage-esque little beauties, they traveled to me all the way from Georgia! Which is somewhere I’ve never been and would love to go and try a delish peach someday!

Lanvin Does “Real People”

For Lanvin’s new Fall line, the Parisians made a bold choice to use “real people” to model their luxe line. Among the chosen ones include bloggers, stylists, wardrobe consultants, photographers, designers and dancers. Read about all the “real people” models here.  Above, I chose some of my favorite photographs from this extremely refreshing (and glamorous) shoot. To see people being acknowledged in pictures for their accomplishments instead of just what they look like is like a gust of fresh air in an otherwise extremely stagnant and un-diverse industry. Hopefully this bold move made by  Lanvin, will help other brands do a similar campaign. Bravo Lanvin!

GAGA FOR GWEN

I mentioned in my last post I would be delving more into Gwen Stefani’s style and here is what I came up with. A compilation of some of my favorite looks she has sported on the streets, in magazines and of course on the red carpet. Her perfect accessory is always her hot hubby or one of her adorable children.

Here I chose outfits that truly embody what it means to be Gwen Stefani. She tends to wear dark colors, houndstooth, animal print, leather and lots and lots of red lipstick. My favorite thing about her, is that she is fearless when it comes to fashion. She takes fashion risks even while at the grocery store or running errands with the fam. She hasn’t let mother hood tone down or dampen her style. Let’s be honest here, I envy the fact that she’s a lead singer of a great band, has an incredibly hot husband, flawless abs, can pull off a red pout any day of the week and that she is always oozing with amazing self confidence. Every woman (and man) should strive for this kind of confidence. It says “I am myself and you can love me or hate me, I don’t really care either way.” Gwen is an icon not only because of her constant ability to be stylish, she is also a role model because she is so fearless.

Stay Stylish.

Summer Must Haves @ GAP

As I mentioned in a previous post, this summer I got a job as a sales associate at GAP and couldn’t be more happy. Even though I’ve only been working for a few weeks, I’ve already spotted many things that I will HAVE to buy with my AMAZING employee discount. Above I created a collage of some of my favorites which include graphic tees, bright pants, and some rather fetching accessories if I do say so myself 😉

Blast From The Past: Alice + Olivia

As I was scrolling through one of my favorite brand sites, Alice + Olivia, I realized how much their current collection is channeling popular past fashion trends. Seeing as I am a sucker for 1950s fashions (as well as the others pictured here), I HAD to make a collage of my favs!

The lilac colored 1960s inspired ensemble would be great paired with a killer pair of heals and some chunky arm candy for a semi casual summer evening gathering. The 1970s Parisian inspired outfit is perfect just the way Alice + Olivia styled it on their site. The only thing missing is a chic clutch! The 1950s housewife get up is so fierce! Walk into any room wearing that dress with a waist cinching belt and you’re bound to have a few wandering eyes exploring your florals. As for the 1920s flapper, this is for a girl who WANTS to be noticed at a party or night out on the town. Wearing it with minimal jewelry and understated heels lets you shine on the dance floor without too much fuss!

* All items (and many more must haves) available at Alice+Olivia.com!
