CAbi Fall 2012

I’ve been a huge fan of the brand CAbi for several years now. For those who don’t know, CAbi stands for Carol Anderson By Invitation. CAbi is a clothing line solely offered and sold in peoples homes for women by women. Designer Carol Anderson founded the clothing company in 1977 upon the principles that women would receive a personal shopping experience in the comfort of friends homes as well as their own. My CAbi consultant is a personal friend and neighbor and she always is great at showing off the amazing collections.  There is always a Fall and Spring Collection annually.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to have time to go and view the Fall 2012 collection and fell in love with many pieces (as usual). I bought a handful of items that I will definitely feature on my blog once it gets a little cooler seeing as they are fall/winter pieces. Mary (my consultant) showed me that CAbi now has a blog that I know highly enjoy reading! It’s called the CAbi Canary and I recommend that everyone takes a look!

GAGA FOR GWEN

I mentioned in my last post I would be delving more into Gwen Stefani’s style and here is what I came up with. A compilation of some of my favorite looks she has sported on the streets, in magazines and of course on the red carpet. Her perfect accessory is always her hot hubby or one of her adorable children.

Here I chose outfits that truly embody what it means to be Gwen Stefani. She tends to wear dark colors, houndstooth, animal print, leather and lots and lots of red lipstick. My favorite thing about her, is that she is fearless when it comes to fashion. She takes fashion risks even while at the grocery store or running errands with the fam. She hasn’t let mother hood tone down or dampen her style. Let’s be honest here, I envy the fact that she’s a lead singer of a great band, has an incredibly hot husband, flawless abs, can pull off a red pout any day of the week and that she is always oozing with amazing self confidence. Every woman (and man) should strive for this kind of confidence. It says “I am myself and you can love me or hate me, I don’t really care either way.” Gwen is an icon not only because of her constant ability to be stylish, she is also a role model because she is so fearless.

Stay Stylish.

Party Cardi

The other day I was browsing through Old Navy (knowing that I get a discount for working at GAP) and found a few cute and low priced items. This polka dot cardigan is so cute and perfect as a summer coverup! I plan on wearing it over dress, with shorts, jeans, etcetera. It feels sort of retro without being too much, oh and it comes in a bunch of great other colors as well! More to come (I’ll probably be blogging about this sweater again soon).

Summer Must Haves @ GAP

As I mentioned in a previous post, this summer I got a job as a sales associate at GAP and couldn’t be more happy. Even though I’ve only been working for a few weeks, I’ve already spotted many things that I will HAVE to buy with my AMAZING employee discount. Above I created a collage of some of my favorites which include graphic tees, bright pants, and some rather fetching accessories if I do say so myself 😉

Tokyo Chic

This week my best friend hopped on a airplane to Japan from San Francisco (a 14 hour flight) to play in a music festival. Helping her decide on outfits to pack inspired me to create my own “Tokyo chic” look. As you all probably already know, Tokyo (in my opinion) is the capital of daring fashionistas. Women (and men) there are willing to take huge fashion risks and they have helped me conjure the courage to make my own. I know that not everyone in Tokyo dresses in outrageous attire all the time but it’s fun to be creative with fashion as well as take risks!

Above, I created a look that amps up my usual fairly simplistic attire. Many of these pieces transition into day/night as well as into many different outfits. For example: pairing the denim vest with a sundress and boots on a warm day instantly adds a new edge to a cute dress. Another option would be take the cobalt pants and pair them with a tiny tank, a blazer and killer heels for a perfect going out look. Go ahead be fearless!

Items: 1. H&M cat eye sunnies $9.95,  2. Markus Lupfer Kapow! sweater $475,  3. Raw edge denim vest $30,  4. Rag & Bone skinnies $200,  5. Marc Jacobs watch $200,  6. Polka dot scarf $22,  7. Hello Kitty necklace $16.50,  8. Marc Jacobs bag $438,  9. Explode slipper $40.
