Keep it Casual

I’ve had several requests from guy friends lately to start doing some outfit posts/inspiration boards for guys. I don’t know too much about men’s fashion, but I do know what looks good. This week I chose a laid back look for men pulling inspiration from my Men’s Style Pinterest board. I usually like a well dressed man but for Fall, I’m noticing a lot of really casual looks. The key to this look is looking trendy without trying too hard, the beanie is a great accessory but SHOULD NOT be worn everyday.

My pics: Nixon Cruiser Watch $175// Burton beanie $25// Gap Jeans (cuffed) $89.95// AE Denim Shirt $49.95// Tom’s Brown Suede Botas $74// Urban Outfitters V-Neck Tee $18.

California Dreamin’

This weekend was a great one! I got to work at the restaurant all day during the Beer Fest (which lead to some very interesting convos), go to a surf contest, see some old friends and of course down a delicious authentic Mexican burrito! I hope y’all enjoyed your weekend as well!

Heidi Merrick Fall 2012

Yesterday I ran a quick errand for Damsel in Dior to Heidi Merrick‘s studio in Downtown LA and was reminded of how much I adore her clothing! A few months ago I actually got to meet Heidi at an event in Beverly Hills and she was so sweet and down to earth. Her clothing is simple and to the point but she adds key details that really bring something special to each piece. Above are some of my favorite looks from her Fall 2012 collection. These pieces are all very wearable and versatile with undeniable class. I am excited to see what she brings to collections to come!

Can you tell I LOVE Fall fashion?!

CAbi Fall 2012

I’ve been a huge fan of the brand CAbi for several years now. For those who don’t know, CAbi stands for Carol Anderson By Invitation. CAbi is a clothing line solely offered and sold in peoples homes for women by women. Designer Carol Anderson founded the clothing company in 1977 upon the principles that women would receive a personal shopping experience in the comfort of friends homes as well as their own. My CAbi consultant is a personal friend and neighbor and she always is great at showing off the amazing collections.  There is always a Fall and Spring Collection annually.

Yesterday I was lucky enough to have time to go and view the Fall 2012 collection and fell in love with many pieces (as usual). I bought a handful of items that I will definitely feature on my blog once it gets a little cooler seeing as they are fall/winter pieces. Mary (my consultant) showed me that CAbi now has a blog that I know highly enjoy reading! It’s called the CAbi Canary and I recommend that everyone takes a look!

E-mazing Etsy

I’ve known about the online shop Etsy, for quite some time but haven’t fully looked into what they have until now. Etsy offers a unique blend of vintage as well as hand-made eclectic finds. While surfing the AMAZING site, I found many things that I MUST HAVE. Vintage Chanel bags, adorable handmade jewelry and that leather messenger bag that would be absolutely perfect for school! I have fallen IN LOVE with the site and plan to purchase many of my favs (shown above). I will most likely open my own shop considering I have made a lot of jewelry, art and other little knick knacks!

More to come! Xx

New Locks

The other day I got my hair cut after taking a very long time to grow it out. It doesn’t look that long but believe me, it was really short before! I also got it dyed after growing out the ombre (aka bad roots) for a while. I like that it looks more clean and kept now. What do you think of it?

Here I am wearing an Anthropologie top, Urban Outfitters jeans, and my favorite Victoria Leather purse.

Crazy For Stella & Dot

I recently received my Gigi Studs from Stella & Dot that I won in a giveaway hosted by fellow blogger Arbitrary Ambrosia and I’m in love!  I chose to wear them the other day on a trip to the luxurious Ojai Valley Inn & Spa in Ojai, California. While touring the gorgeous Spanish style grounds of the hotel, I wore a simple black cami tucked into printed high-waisted shorts, my favorite (old) Steve Maddens and topped it all off with my new Gigi Studs! Besides the fact that I won these vintage-esque little beauties, they traveled to me all the way from Georgia! Which is somewhere I’ve never been and would love to go and try a delish peach someday!

Summer Garden Party

Vintage Tracy Reese Top/ Nordstrom Trousers (from last winter)/ Zara Clutch/  Anthropologie Earrings/ Grandmother’s Vintage Gold Watch/ Aldo Heels.

Tonight I thought I’d put together a look for a “summer garden party.” I used some of my favorite pieces (and a new photo editor) to show what I came up with. Let me know what you think!

Pretty Polka Dots

Last week I was lucky enough to get together with my gal pal Courtney Baird to take a few snaps of her sassy style! I love her look here, she wears an ADORABLE navy polka dot print skirt, paired with a girlie slit sleeved top and floral sandals. This look is perfect for summer without trying too hard!

As the smell of Fall begins to slowly waft through the air, so does the phenomenon of back to school shopping. It is always so important to be wearing the cutest outfit possible on the first day of school that says, “hey, let’s be friends.” Can an outfit really say that you ask? Yes, yes it can. Here, my sister Sarah models a potential look for young teenage girls entering their early high school years. Sarah is photographed in Ventura, California,  where the fall weather will be the same as it was in the summer (65-75 and sunny) so having heavy jackets and fall pieces are extremely impractical. Instead Sarah wears a light weight blazer that can be taken off to reveal a cute graphic tee! Many of her favorite back-to-school basics are available at Old Navy where affordable clothing and great style go hand in hand! (no I am not an advertisement I just really do love Old Navy).

More to come later on shopping for school as it nears time to hit the books again!
